the physical painting came first, ouroboros, shortly after lockdown in 2020, during an artist residency on Governor's Island. A moment of meditation, considering love, loss, loneliness and our place moving forward? unrequited is where I seemed to find myself, my art, my life and begin again. I made this second, smaller piece, 'unrequited' 18"x18" acrylic on muslin recently, while reflecting on that moment and realizing the cyclical nature of all things. when all the prints have been sold, a random 'recipient' will be selected to be given the original 'unrequited' physical artwork. In essence, aren't we all facing the idea of 'unrequited' in one way or another?
